Quality
The 3 most important aspects when looking for a wood fence are: The type of wood, The quality of the board, and The thickness of the lumber. The only wood our company sells is a Type 1 quality cedar board. Cedar is the best wood to use for a fence and the Type 1 means the minimal amount of knots allowed. The privacy boards are 1" thick x 6" wide, while the picket boards are 1" thick x 4" wide. 4' and 5' fences use 2 -2" x 4" cedar rails, while all the 6' fences use 3 per section. Posts consist of 4"x 4" cedar posts.
By us stick building the fence, we can use, space, or cut any board to accomplish your desired look. If you don't see what your looking for, just ask and we will let you know if it can be built.
Styles
The starting point is deciding if your looking for a solid picket or shadowbox fence. The picket will give you more of an open style using a spaced 4" board. The solid will give you the most privacy with the 6" boards butted against one another. The shadowbox is designed to give you privacy while letting some wind flow through and looking the same from both sides. This uses 6" boards on alternating sides.

Once you decide on the type of fence, you will need to decide on the style. The are 4 basic board styles available: Flat Top, Dog Ear, Gothic and French Gothic. We can also arch the fence up or down. The last thing to decide on is the style of posts. Most fences use a flat top post to give the back a nice clean line. Arched fences and the French gothic picket fence look good with a French gothic post to accent the style and flow of the fence.
Installation
We custom build your fence on site to ensure you the best possible fit and finish for home. All of our posts are set in concrete to keep your fence in a straight line for many years to come. We custom make your gates using ornamental hinges and latches for strength and beauty.
